Curved Geese

This quilt design was started at a workshop given by JoAnn Bellings. She gave a workshop on design with curved flying geese. The design is drawn free-hand and then the flying geese are paper-pieced. The curved piecing was done by machine. It is machine quilted.

Poppy

This quilt features needle-turn hand applique and beautiful machine quilting. The center poppies were curved pieced before being appliqued to the quilt. All design elements are original to this quilt. The hummingbird in the border brings movement to the quilt. The penny sized circles in the border are all hand appliqued. The fabrics in this quilt are from 3 generations. The backing is a green swirl - the same as the hand finished binding.

North Woods

This quilt was made as a Birthday present for a dear friend. She loves the outdoors and wanted something that would fit in her fireplace. It was a great pleasure to make this for her.

Mini Bikers

This small quilt features bugs on motorcycles. It is accented with flames and motorcycle parts. The unique block setting allows large areas of the theme fabric to be seen. It was machine quilted and the binding was finished by hand.

This large wall hanging was an orginal quilt design using cashmere wool suit cloth and vintage ties. It was machine quilted on a longarm machine using an orginal quilting design. The binding was hand finished.

Petals

This original quilt was a work of love. The center contains 320 1" blocks. There are 18 hand appliqued flowers, with 128 petals. The gold border really frames it nicely. The binding was hand finished. This quilt was hung in the Pensacola Quilters Guild Show in March 2006.

Calling California

This small wall hanging was made around 2” fussy-cut blocks featuring pictures of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. It then used a ¾” frame around each different pose and set them in a square-in-square on point. The four center, alternating blocks contain a cowboy embroidery motiff. The edge of the quilt features an embroidered rope design. I used a tiny check for the backing. The quilt is hand embroidered and hand quilted and the binding is finished by hand.

February 4th

The center of this quilt is acrylic paint on muslin. I used freezer paper to make my stencil patterns. It has a 4½ “ scrappy square-in-square inner border followed by a 3½ “ border. This quilt is hand quilted and the binding is finished by hand.

Through the Years

The quilt center is a 16 inch square with a hand appliqued vase and flowers. It has a 1 inch inner border, a pieced 3 inch middle border, and a 3 inch outer border. The vase was paper-pieced and then hand appliqued. The pieced middle border uses a wide variety of 1 inch squares. The binding is hand finished.
