The story:
This quilt was the first quilt I had ever put on a long-arm machine. My mother wanted me to try out "Irv" but it did not go well. Atfer quilting three lengths of a looped pantogram, we discovered that the back tension was very bad and the backing had LARGE holes where the neddle had gone through. My father spent the next 3 months carefully and faithfully ripping out all of those stitches. The warmth of the quilt was welcomed, as it was the middle of winter in Indiana. I brought the quilt home and ended up quilting it with my Bernina. Maybe someday I will try again on "Irv", but for now I think I will stick to my Bernina. The ladies at my quilt quild in Florida thought (from a distance) the center was a "panel" because the colors were so muted and the design subtle.
