This quilt features roosters and cherries. It is made out of only two fabrics - the solid red and the theme fabric. The theme fabric had a wide border on each side, perfect for fussy-cutting the roosters. The pattern is based on a solid square and a variation on the 9-patch square. It is quilted heavily by machine with a sun and rooster motif, using a red to yellow varigated thread. The binding is hand finished.

I have learned to love leftovers! The flag fabric was left over from an Americana quilt that I did in 2003. The abnormal shape of the blocks lent themselves to a different design. The backing is strip pieced with solid red on the sides and the border fabric (strip) down the center. The binding is hand finished.

The fabrics are woodsy themes in burgundy-red, green and cream. The quilt has a 2" inner border and 5" side and bottom borders. The top border showcases a hand-appliqued "No Trespassing" sign which is outlined with a hand button-hole stitch. The machine quilting includes pine trees, bears, leaves, bear paws, and other woodsy motifs. The binding is finished by hand.
