The story:
This is my rooster "challenge" quilt. Last year we all decided we would try to do a "rooster" themed quilt since there are so many great fabrics out right now. I think "Grandma" Bonnie has done one, but I am still waiting on the other two. I learned from this quilt that poly batting is not always the best choice when I am planning on doing a lot of heavy quilting as it tends to warp.

Description:
This quilt features roosters and cherries. It is made out of only two fabrics - the solid red and the theme fabric. The theme fabric had a wide border on each side, perfect for fussy-cutting the roosters. The pattern is based on a solid square and a variation on the 9-patch square. It is quilted heavily by machine with a sun and rooster motif, using a red to yellow varigated thread. The binding is hand finished.Detail images:
