The story:
The couching was a lot of fun and an easy way to embelish the quilt top. I have used couching also on tote bags. Some quilters use couching on quilted wearables such as vests. Many sewing machines have a special foot attachment to make attaching the yarn easier.

Description:
This twin sized strip quilt features bright fabrics and bugs. The wide border is accented with couching (attaching treads or yarns to your quilt top). I had seen the couching technique demonstrated and had to try it for myself. The bright colors of the yarn coordinates nicely with the fabrics. The center of the quilt is machine quilted with a meador and the border uses a decorative stitch to attach the yarn to all three layers. The binding is hand finished. Detail images:
